Beginning Monday, November 16th, all BRES students will participate in a school-wide reading competition. Your child’s teacher will send home a daily reading log. The number of minutes your child spends reading should be recorded on the log, along with your signature. On Friday of each week, classrooms’ total number of minutes will be recorded on a graph on the screen in the lobby. At the end of each month, the classroom with the most minutes read will win a pizza party! Because being able to read proficiently is critical in everything we do as children and adults, it is BRES’ desire to instill a love a reading in each and every student. Reading is required in math, science, social studies, STEAM, music, and sometimes even P.E.Therefore, we have begun a school-wide focus on literacy. Be looking on our FaceBook page for students getting caught reading. Ask your child about daily videos of the staff reading stories in their Google Classroom. Please join us in this initiative by reading with your child, and have him or her read to you. We would love any pictures and/or videos you would like to share. Happy Reading, Tigers!
