Principal's Message

Missy Fugate

My name is Missy Fugate, and my Paulette roots run deep!  As a small child, I grew up in the Paulette Community where my parents still live today.  The opportunity to be a part of Paulette Elementary has been an absolute privilege to me.

I graduated from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.  I began teaching immediately in Union County. I taught kindergarten for nine years at Luttrell Elementary. I taught third, fifth and kindergarten for seven years at Maynardville Elementary.  My next position was as the RTI Coordinator for the Union County district for two years.

In 2011, I became the Instructional Facilitator at Paulette Elementary.  After 20 years as an educator, I went back to school! I obtained my Educational Specialist degree in Administration & Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

Fast forward to August 2018, and I am the principal at Paulette Elementary!  Being involved in the construction of Paulette from the ground up has given me a deeper love for this school.  I am so honored to be here. Paulette Elementary really is home to me. I just can’t hide that Paulette Pride!
